ANZAC PORTRAITS
The City of Newcastle and Newcastle RSL Sub Branch have joined together, with Esem Projects, to present a public art Portraiture Project as part of the 2014 Anzac Day program.
The Portraits were screened in large format on the David Maddison Building as part of City Evolutions on Watt St for six weeks from sundown on Anzac Day, 25 April 2013.
I produced a series of interviews with the locals involved in the project, sharing their stories and connections to Australian's war efforts.
Lambton veteran Harry Day talks about how he discovered his dad blew up several enemy tanks during WW2 and came home with shrapnel in his side. Harry then talks about" winning the lottery" and being drafted into the Vietnam war.
Medowie Resident John Newburn speaks about about his grandfathers 'Call to Arms', which he received before being shipped off to WWI.
